Miley Cyrus - Breakout - Miley Cyrus

One of the Ordinary Joes here, to tell you what I think about Miley Cyrus’ first album not involving the Hanna Montana franchise. “Breakout” is already proving itself to be good competition for other summer albums on the charts.

Don't you wish that you could be a Fly on the Wall?

Miley Cyrus has compiled an album of anthems that appeal to a fan base spanning from Suburban Kids to Tough Cookies (who won’t admit they listen) all over America. Upon listening to this album, one can’t help but admit that Miley’s music reminds you of the innocence of childhood. Didn’t we all wanna “Breakout” of the classroom? “Every week’s the same. Stuck in school so lame…We’re gonna Breakout, Let the party start

No million-dollar beats here, the album possesses an essence of rawness, guitar and drums just rocking out. One track on the album is a cover of “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”, the 1980’s hit, initially sung by Cyndi Lauper. It can never replace the original, but I’m sure it’ll do a good job of bringing the song to a new generation.

Miley even becomes an activist of sort, in her song “Wake up America”. “Global warming, going green… Wake up America.” An all too common message, but still very much needed. On the track titled “Simple Song” Miley sings of the day to day stresses we all face, bumper to bumper traffic and a hectic 9 to 5. “Somebody push it away, so all that I can hear is a simple song…La, la, la, la la.” Miley Cyrus wanted to relate to her older audience more with this album, while staying very age appropriate. Tales of young love, partying and having fun with friends either will have tweens jumping or their parents clipping their fingers and wondering why.

Miley Cyrus is the daughter of musician Billy Ray Cyrus. This 15 year old pop star and actress is expected to be a billionaire by the age of 18, due to the success of the Hanna Montana franchise and the mark she has started to etch in the music industry.

Breakout” gets a “B” from the Ordinary Joe Blog for the list of summer hits sure to pour from its tracks and for Miley Cyrus’ choice to stick to what she knows and does best.
