SearchPleasure P Molestation Charges Not So Pleasurable05th December 2009 R&B Artist Pleasure P (Marcus Cooper) has had a horrible past week, in light of rumors of child molestation and being dropped from his group “Pretty Ricky”. The only good things to shine through for PP were the nominations for the upcoming Grammy Awards he received for his work on his first solo album, “The Introduction of Marcus Cooper”. The claims are that Pleasure P inappropriately touched younger family members; several documents alleged to come from a settlement were also released, as well as disparaging tweets from the daughter of the attorney who allegedly represented the singer. According to the allegations, the case against Pleasure P reportedly took place in 2004 and a settlement was later negotiated. The information in the blog also notes that the singer was instructed to attend counseling and perform community service. The anonymous tipster claims the singer never paid his legal bills and as a result, his attorney's assistant, also his daughter, tweeted about the court documents. In light of the swarm of blogs picking up these rumors, Cooper released a statement on his official website. It reads as follows… "All of the recent rumors and accusations that are being circulated about me are 100-percent false. They are disgusting and vile, and they are being spread by individuals with their own sick agendas. The purported documents that are also being circulated are forgeries. I have never met or known anyone by the name of 'AGoldstein' or Laura Goldstein or Ashley Goldstein, which I believe are fictitious names. I have never been represented by an attorney named Goldstein. For someone to go to such depths to assassinate my character and slander my good name is truly criminal. My attorneys are investigating this matter and will take all necessary and appropriate action to protect my name and reputation." Sounds like he could be telling the truth, but we’ve heard statements like these from celebrities so many times before, and then the accusations often turn out true. Pleasure P’s former group-mates in the Billboard chart topping R&B group Pretty Ricky released a statement as well, stating that he is in fact no longer a member of the group. However, they did not state the reason for kicking him out. “Unfortunately due to Pleasure P’s lawyer filing an injunction against us from speaking, we are not at liberty to speak about the case. However, we will let it be known that we did kick him out of the group; he did not leave on his own free will. We did a deal with Atlantic via Craig Calman that we would let him out of the group if they bought out his contract with us and Blue Star, which is the official label of Pretty Ricky. We are not at liberty to discuss why we kicked him out of the group.” Kind of harsh don’t you think? Don’t know why this was done, but if it was because of the allegations against him I think it’s kind of soon to be jumping to conclusions. Furthermore, it’s obvious he can do better without them! abuse • charge • child • grammy • kick out • lawyer • molestation • ordinary joe music blog • picture • pleasure p • pretty ricky • twitter abuse • charge • child • grammy • kick out • lawyer • molestation • ordinary joe music blog • picture • pleasure p • pretty ricky • twitter Tags: abuse, charge, child, grammy, kick out, lawyer, molestation, ordinary joe music blog, picture, pleasure p, pretty ricky, twitter
